Visas fee and entry procedure
All nationalities except Indians require a visa for travel to Nepal. Visas are obtainable from embassies abroad or on arrival at Kathmandu’s Nepal international airport. If getting the visa at the airport be prepared for long queues (30 minutes), but this is still the easiest way to go.

You will need to provide one passport-sized photo and the following fees in US dollars only: single entry visa valid for 60 days – US$30, multiple entry visas valid for 150 days – US$80. Please note regulations and costs for visas change frequently so it’s advisable to check the current rules with your nearest Nepalese embassy or consulate.

Airport taxes
For international departure, airport taxes are included in your ticket fare. No Airport taxes have to be paid for domestic & international departure from Kathmandu.

Entry fees
Entry fees are collected with travelers in some of major sights and national parks. Entry fees for trekking region should pay before you start trekking. That receipt works as trekking permit. If you decided to pay on the checking spot, it cost double of the total entry fee.

Photography
Always ask permission first. In general, it is allowed outside temples and at festivals, but not at religious ceremonies or inside temples; however, there is no hard and fast rule and the only way to be sure of not giving offense is to ask first and accept the answer.
Money
Nepalese Rupees is local currency, most of the hotels, shop, travel agency; restaurants accept credit card payment also. You are expected to pay additional bank charge of 4% of total bill while you are paying by credit card. Exchange rates varies bank to bank or among the authorized money changers. ATMs are becoming more common in Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara, credit cards (VISA, Master Card, and American Express) are accepted at major retailers.

Tipping
Tipping is not mandatory but it is highly expected and recommended according service you received. Especially, who involved in your trip like drivers, porters, crews, guides expect tips after completion of their job.
