Lower dolpo is scenically and culturally attractive destination for trekking. Lower dolpo trek crosses the three high passes of Dolpa region like Kagmara La 5115m, Baga La (5190 m), Numa La (5159 m). Special permit is required for trekking in lower Dolpa. Dolpa region lies to the west of the Kali Gandaki valley; Dolpo is located inside the Shey-Phoksundo National Park in mid-western Nepal, behind the Dhaulagiri massif, towards the Tibetan plateau. Dolpa or Karnali region offers opportunities to visit ancient villages like Tarakot, Tarap, Dho, high passes, beautiful Lakes, isolated Buddhist monasteries and various rare and endangered species of wildlife and plants, wildlife like Blue sheep, Mountain Goat, Jackal, Wolf and Snow Leopard etc are found in lower Dolpa.
