Tamang heritage trek or Rasuwa trek offer the natural and cultural diversity of Himalayan foothills and narrow valleys. Tamang heritage trail is easy trekking trail of langtang region. Main attraction of Tamang trek are dramatic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m.), Langtang Kerung, Chimse Danda ridge crossed by Ganjala Pass (5122m.), Dorje Lakpa (6989m.), Jugal Himal, Paldor peak, Ganesh Himal, , Manaslu, Shringi Himal etc. Tamang heritage trekking is an off the beaten path trek which highlights an ancient Tamang cultural heritage combining it with picturesque scenery of secret Langtang valley and healing baths in natural hot springs. Previously restricted region this region has recently been opened as a Tamang heritage trail. Most of the people of this area are Tamang, Tibetan origin, whose culture and crafts have remained unchanged since the begging of settlements.
During the Tamang heritage trek you will explore traditional Tamang villages, unspoiled nature and culture, monasteries, alpine terrain, green meadows, rhododendron forest and mountain views with the insight into the Tamang culture. Tamang trekking starts from Syabrubesi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Thuman, Timure, Briddim, Lama Hotel, Langtang valley and Kyangjin Gompa. Goljung, Gatlang and Langtang are traditional Tamang villages culminating cultural features. Langtang valley is protected by the Langtang National Park the second largest national park of Nepal.
Langtang is a narrow valley that lies just north of Kathmandu. For Tamang heritage trekking it is not necessary any hiking and trekking experience, just normal walking experience is enough for Tamang heritage trek.
